Aikido is not primarily a system of combat, but rather a means of self-cultivation and improvement.Aikidohas no tournaments, competitions, contests, or "sparring.".  Instead, all Aikido techniques arelearnedcooperatively at a pace commensurate with the abilities of each trainee.
